How It Works
WP MegaManager triggers backups through the companion plugin installed on your WordPress site. The plugin creates a complete archive of your files and database, then uploads it to your chosen storage provider. Schedules are managed centrally from your dashboard.
Flexible Scheduling
Set backup schedules per site with fine-grained control. Choose the time of day, day of the week, and timezone. Set retention counts to automatically clean up old backups. Run additional manual backups anytime you're about to make major changes.
One-Click Restore
When disaster strikes, restore your site with a single click. The restore process downloads the backup, extracts files, and imports the database — all handled automatically. A floating progress indicator keeps you informed throughout the process.
Storage & Retention
Track how much storage each site's backups consume. Set retention policies to automatically delete old backups and manage costs. Monitor backup sizes over time to detect unexpected growth in your site's data.
Bring Your Own Storage
Backups go straight to your own S3-compatible bucket — Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Cloudflare R2, or AWS S3. We never store your backup payloads on our infrastructure, so you keep full ownership of your data and control over costs, region, and retention.
Who it's for
Agencies protecting dozens of client sites with consistent, scheduled backups managed from a single dashboard.
Freelancers offering backups as part of monthly care plans, with one-click restore when something breaks.
E-commerce stores safeguarding orders, customers, and catalog data before plugin updates or theme changes.
Teams that want to bring their own storage and keep every backup inside infrastructure they own and control.
Frequently asked questions
Where are backups stored?
Backups are stored in your own S3-compatible bucket that you connect — Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Cloudflare R2, or AWS S3. WP MegaManager never holds copies of your backup payloads on its infrastructure; the data lives entirely in storage you own and control.
Can I use my own S3 bucket?
Yes — bringing your own storage is the standard setup. You provide credentials for any S3-compatible provider (Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Cloudflare R2, AWS S3) and backups upload directly there. You decide the bucket, region, and retention so you stay in full control of cost and data residency.
How do I restore?
Restores are one click from your dashboard. The process downloads the backup from your storage, extracts your files, and imports the database automatically, with a live progress indicator. You can restore a full site after a failed update, a hack, or any other issue.
Are backups incremental?
Yes — incremental backups are supported so only changed data is captured after the initial full backup, reducing transfer time and storage usage. You can still run full backups on demand whenever you want a fresh, complete snapshot before major changes.
Do you keep a copy of my data?
No. Backup payloads are uploaded directly to your own S3-compatible bucket and are never stored on WP MegaManager's servers. You own the data and set the retention policy, so old backups are deleted on your schedule, not ours.
