How It Works
WP MegaManager monitors your sites for various events: downtime, available updates, backup results, security vulnerabilities, and more. When an event occurs, it checks your notification preferences to determine whether and how to alert you.
Granular Control
Configure alerts at the global level or per individual site. Choose which event types matter to you: maybe you want instant alerts for downtime but only weekly summaries for available updates. Each category can be toggled independently.
Email Frequency
Not every alert needs to be an instant email. Choose between instant delivery for critical events, daily digests that batch notifications into a single email, or weekly summaries for a high-level overview. Reduce inbox noise while staying informed.
Alert Dashboard
All alerts are collected in a centralized dashboard where you can review, acknowledge, and resolve them. Filter by severity, site, or type. See alert history and patterns to identify recurring issues across your site portfolio.
Who it's for
Agencies managing dozens of client sites use severity filtering and digests to avoid alert fatigue, so genuine emergencies don't get buried under routine update notices.
Freelancers who only want important pings can mute low-priority categories and keep instant alerts for downtime, failed backups, and malware findings.
Teams route different alert types to the right people — security issues to the developer, billing or uptime alerts to the account owner — using per-category webhook delivery.
On-call setups forward critical, time-sensitive alerts to an external incident tool or chat channel via webhook so whoever is on rotation gets notified immediately.
Frequently asked questions
What events trigger alerts?
Smart Alerts covers context-aware events beyond basic downtime: failed plugin or core updates, malware findings, performance regressions, and backup failures, alongside standard uptime and site-disconnection checks. You choose which categories are active globally or per site, so you only hear about what matters to you.
How do I receive them (email or webhook)?
Alerts are delivered by email and by webhook. Email supports instant delivery, daily digests, or weekly summaries to control frequency, while webhooks send a JSON payload to any endpoint you configure so you can plug alerts into your own tooling.
Can I reduce noise or false alarms?
Yes — noise reduction is a core design goal. You can filter by severity (critical vs. warning), batch non-urgent items into digests, and toggle individual categories off, so routine events don't flood your inbox while real problems still reach you instantly.
Can I customize alerts per site?
You can configure preferences globally or override them on individual sites. For example, you might want instant downtime alerts for a high-traffic client store but only weekly summaries for a low-priority blog — each site's categories and frequency are set independently.
Can alerts go to Slack or Discord?
There is no one-click Slack or Discord integration yet, but because alerts support outgoing webhooks you can forward them to either platform using an incoming webhook URL or a lightweight relay. Smart Alerts is currently a beta module, and native chat integrations are something we are actively exploring.
