How It Works
You enter the recipient email, WordPress role, and how long access should last. The connector plugin creates (or updates) a dedicated user on the site and stores expiry metadata. MegaManager keeps a grant record so you can see who has access and revoke it instantly.
Security Mindset
Temporary users are meant to be narrow in scope and time. Prefer the lowest role that still gets the job done, use shorter windows when possible, and revoke as soon as work is finished. Magic links reduce password handling; passwords are shown once in the UI when that method is chosen.
Beta
Temporary Access is available to all accounts while we harden invite delivery, timezone edge cases around expiry, and error messages. Report anything odd from the Contact page or your usual support channel.

How does temporary access work?
You choose the recipient's email, a WordPress role, and how long access should last. The connector plugin creates a dedicated user on the site and stores expiry metadata, while MegaManager keeps a grant record so you can see and manage who has access.
Do I share my WP password?
No. Each grant creates a separate user account rather than handing out your administrator credentials. With the magic-link delivery option no password is exchanged at all, and with the password option the credential is shown once and belongs only to that temporary user.
Does access expire automatically?
Yes. You set a duration from hours to weeks, and the temporary user is scheduled to expire at the end of that window. We're still hardening timezone edge cases around expiry during the public beta, so confirm critical revocations in your dashboard.
Can I revoke it early?
Yes. You can revoke a grant instantly from MegaManager before its scheduled expiry, and the change also reflects in WordPress. This is useful when work finishes ahead of schedule or you simply want to end access right away.
Is it more secure than sharing a login?
It reduces the risk of long-lived shared credentials. Instead of one password circulating indefinitely, each person gets a scoped, time-limited account you can revoke independently. You still control the role, so granting the lowest role that gets the job done keeps exposure minimal.
